I am not Perfect, But…

clip_image002_thumbIt’s a personal opinion of mine which you are going to read now In sha Allah.
We are all human beings and we know there is not a single human ever who has been perfect.
We are creations of Allah brought to this world for a purpose. What are we supposed to do with our lives??
Lead a life trying to obey and please Allah by following Quran and hadees, which every one of us knows.
But didn’t Allah tell us to something more??
There is a Sahih Hadith which has been narrated in the Jaami as-Sahih: “Seeking knowledge is compulsory (fard) on every Muslim.” (Irrespective of whether he is a male or a female).
The word is compulsory (fard) which means we cannot avoid it, ever wondered why it is so?
The answer is given by Allah in the Holy Quran itself
‘’It is only those who have knowledge among His servants that fear Allah’’ (Quran: Fatir 35:28)
Only if we keep learning will we get to know about Islam and only then we will be able to reflect and act upon it fearing Allah.
There is a hadees which clearly states that we as Muslims are supposed share the knowledge Allah has bestowed upon us, even if it is a simple verse.
‘’Convey from me, even if it is a verse.” (Bukhari 3461)
Today technology has made our lives so simple that we can share whatever we want with the world.
Living in this century with all comforts and media, i personally felt i will be questioned if i do not convey message of ISLAM to the world.
I am not a scholar or teacher and i believe i know only very little about the religion and life of a muslim but i deeply feel, any person who knows a bit of knowledge which he/she thinks will benefit others should share it specially Islamic knowledge.
That’s how i started with a blog and a face book page, but when i post something i keep the words of the Prophet (peace be upon him) in mind
“Facilitate things to people (concerning religious matters), and do not make it hard for them and give them good tidings and do not make them run away (from Islam).”
One hadees which always remains in my mind and which I keep pondering upon.
There a lot of brothers d sisters Masha Allah who are doing their part in every possible way.
I have selected this method because being a mom, I guess this is the only way I can spread the message to the world, while there are a whole lot of ideas and ways for each one of us to adopt.
I have seen a picture of an auto driver doing dawah by keeping Islamic books in his auto so that the passengers get a chance to go through it when travelling in his vehicle.
‘’May Allah reward each and every one of us for our efforts…’’
I keep preaching but wasn’t it necessary for me to first think if I am acting in that way before asking others to do so??
‘’O you who believe! Why do you say that which you do not do?’’ (Quran 61:2)
Yes, we should practice what we preach. There has been situations in my life where I have failed to do what I preached for example ‘When my little one doesn’t sleep late at night and I’m tired I do yell at her, or when my husband doesn’t listen to me when I happily starts a conversation my mood goes off and I start showing attitude, which is not the way I should have been behaving.’
‘’May Allah forgive me and you for our shortcomings and help us become better humans’’
But to be frank when such situations come in my life I also control myself and I believe I get that instinct in mind because I suddenly remember Allah is watching me and I’m not supposed to do so especially because I ask others not to do so although shaithan whispers ‘’C’mon you’re not an angel, mistakes happen and Allah forgives’’
Yes I admit I am not perfect and I fail at times to practice what I preach but that does not mean I should stop doing it and live life as devil ask me to.
What I am trying to convey is ‘’we are humans and mistakes are inevitable, continue striving to be good and please Allah, and then you will find yourself being a better human day by day’’
We also find some people who keep sharing messages about Allah and prophet (peace be upon him) when their lifestyle is just the opposite. I guess those sisters and brothers should think twice not only because the punishment is severe but your own friends will make fun of you.
Of course we have to practice what we preach; the punishment if we do not do so is horrible.
‘’May Allah (subhana wata ala) save us from the punishment of grave and the torment of hell fire’’.
I think after writing this article I will be more cautious in my behavior and I hope everyone reading it will also bring about some changes in their lives as well…
I will put a full stop narrating one more hadees
“Religion is very easy and whoever overburdens himself in his religion will not be able to continue in that way. So you should not be extremists, but try to be near to perfection and receive the good tidings that you will be rewarded” (Sahih Bukhari, Volume 1, Book 2, Number 38).
