Once in a year Love…

once in yearEvery gift shops are ready with hearts pillows, red balloons, romantic gifts, lovely cards, chocolates, red roses etc…

You find hanging hearts, lying hearts, flying hearts and all kinds of hearts everywhere…

Why??

Because it’s February and Valentine’s Day falls in this month.

But who do you think are really preparing for the day? Will it be married couples or teenage girls and boys who feel they are in love?

Yes, we all know it’s definitely not married couples, may be a 3few do but not as much as kids do. We are giving our younger generation a chance to adopt this day (feb 14) as lovers day and do things which they are not supposed to.

Who is responsible for all what they do and its consequences?

The funniest part is those who celebrate the day (the so called lover’s day) do not even know who is valentine or why the day is called so?

Coming to people who wait for this particular day to propose their loved one for marriage, why do you want to hide your love till this day? You think just because you propose her on this day she will accept the proposal? Naa…If she truly loves you she will say ‘’yes’’ any time of the year.

And among His signs is that He created for you mates from among yourselves that you may dwell in tranquility with them, and He has put love and mercy between you; verily, in that are signs for people who reflect.” (Qur’an, 30:21)

If Allah has induced love in her heart for you, she will definitely love you or she won’t no matter which day of the year it may be.

Now we have one more category of lovers, yes you guessed it right…The married couples.

What do they do on this day? As I said this group of people mostly forget about the day, although a very few couples do celebrate.

But don’t you think we (married men and women) deserve to be loved all through the year not just one day in a year. Why not buy small gifts or roses once in a while…go out somewhere every two weeks and spend some time together, express your love more often not just one day?

Well, these are just my thoughts…But as muslims we are supposed to celebrate just two Eid which Allah has granted us.

Not just Muslims each every one of you reading this think for a moment why follow someone blindly without even knowing what the significance of the day is or why all are doing it…

As Valentine’s day celebration has become open and more of a fashion thing, to say I don’t have a valentine is as if narrating a sad story even for a 13 year old..

I think the only advantage of Valentine’s Day is that you get great offers from all jewelers, provided you select a heart shaped pendant.

Let’s grow up, act wisely and preach others especially the coming generation to stop imitating what others are doing and tell them not to displease Allah to please their friends.

May Allah guide us all in the right path and keep us away from unnecessary distractions of this dunya (worldly life)…
