Book: Halal Healthy Meals: Revolutionise your Kitchen with Healthy, Tasty and Exciting Recipes

“… We are killing ourselves with sugar, enriched and refined flours, rice, breads, cereals, oils etc. Many Muslims are even bingeing on fast foods. Allah has given us the best foods in the way of herbs, halal meats, fruits and vegetables. This book gives information about some foods that we should stay away from. They’re the silent killers. There’s also a portion of the book that tells about the health benefits of foods and spices that often appear in this book.” Says Karemah Alhark in a recent interview with MuslimahVoices. Karemah is a second generation Muslim, born in the city of Buffalo, New York where she was raised primarily by her Catholic grandmother.

In 1993, she graduated from the State University of New York at Buffalo, with a B.A. in Psychology and a minor in Early Childhood Development. She later relocated to the “left” coast, settling in San Diego, California with her Muslim relatives.

She is a home-schooling mother of five children ages 17, 16, 10, 8 and 6. She also runs a family owned business with her sister and business partner, Jamila Alqarnain called Noon Publications – a new publishing  company dedicated to providing grassroots media for the Muslim community.

She is the Author of Halal Healthy Meals, a cookbook with over 150 recipes from around the world and great information from the Qur’an and hadith on how to eat and drink in a way that is more beneficial for our health.

I recently purchased my copy and I can’t wait  to give some of the recipes a try and to offer a review of the book inshallah.
